Why subcontractor certificates turn into month-end arguments

Eighty percent claimed, fifty-five built

Today The subcontractor invoices a share of the package that is ahead of what stands on site, and nobody has the measured quantities to argue.

With MG Build The certificate is entered with the quantities measured for the period and compared with the order and earlier certificates before approval.

A certificate paid twice

Today Two people approve the same certificate from two copies, and the duplicate is found when the final account is closed.

With MG Build One subcontract order holds every certificate; what was certified before is visible, so a repeated claim shows at once.

Quantities in a notebook

Today The measured work lives in the site engineer's notebook, and the office approves on trust when the notebook is not there.

With MG Build The measured quantities are on the certificate itself, line by line against the order's BOQ items and rates.

The cost reaches the budget late

Today Subcontract cost appears in the budget only when the bill is posted, weeks after the work was done.

With MG Build The subcontract order commits the cost to its cost code when confirmed, and each approved certificate posts the actual.

What you get

What you get with subcontractor payments in MG Build

Subcontract order per package

The scope as BOQ items with quantities and rates, one order per subcontractor package on the project.

Work certificates

The subcontractor's certificate for the period, entered with the quantities measured on site, line by line.

Check against measured work

Each line is compared with the order and with what was certified before, so an over-claim shows before approval.

Approval by the project manager

The project manager approves the certificate, adjusts a quantity or returns it with a note.

From certificate to bill

The approved certificate becomes the supplier bill, and the payment is recorded in the accounts without re-typing.

Committed and actual cost

The order commits the cost to its cost code when confirmed, and each certificate posts the actual, for budget control.

FAQ

Questions we hear most

How does the check against measured work happen?

Each certificate line carries the quantity measured on site for the period. It is compared with the order's quantity and with everything certified before on that line, so a claim above the measured work shows before anyone approves it.

Can a subcontractor send certificates into the system?

No. The site engineer or the office enters the certificate with the measured quantities; the subcontractor keeps sending it as before. There is no subcontractor login.

Does the subcontract cost reach the project budget?

Yes. The order commits the cost to its cost code when it is confirmed, and each approved certificate posts the actual cost, so budget control shows both without re-typing.

How is MG Build priced, and do we pay per user?

There are no per-user fees. In Kuwait, the Essential package is KWD 45 per month per system with a one-time KWD 100 setup that includes 3 support hours.

Are the orders and certificates in Arabic?

Yes. Orders, certificates, bills and reports are in Arabic and English with right-to-left layouts, and each user picks their own language.
